About the ConferenceThe 9th International Conference on Levy Processes will be held on the island of Samos, Greece, 15-19 July 2019. This is a continuation of conferences previously held in Angers (2016), Wroclaw (2013), Dresden (2010), Copenhagen (2007), Manchester (2005), Paris (2003) and Aarhus (2002, 1999). The aim of the conference is to bring together a wide range of researchers, practitioners and graduate students whose work is related to Levy processes and their applications. The satellite Summer School will take place in Athens from 8 to 12 July. Samos is the birthplace (c. 570 BCE) and work, during the first part of his life, of Pythagoras. Besides being a popular destination in Greece, with ample natural beauty and beautiful beaches, Samos contains the one-km long 2600-year old Eupalinian aqueduct, a tunnel through the mountain, one of the greatest engineering achievements of ancient times designed by geometrical methods. The island of Samos nowadays hosts the Department of Statistics and Actuarial-Financial Mathematics and the Department of Mathematics of the University of the Aegean. This University is spread across 6 different islands, an idea that was initially conceived by Constantin Caratheodory.
